About me.
I am Teresa, I am Khmer/Pākeha, and my pronouns are she/her.
I was born and raised in Te Awakairangi (Lower Hutt), where I still reside with my teen and primary-aged children, husband, and our extended whānau (all eight of us!).
My mum arrived in Aotearoa as a refugee from Cambodia in the early 80s. I grew up with a small handful of whānau who survived the Pol Pot regime, my Yay (grandmother), and my three Oms (Aunties). The experiences that I’ve heard and the experiences I’ve lived led me to pursue the counselling vocation.
Outside of the counselling space, I enjoy cooking, vegetable gardening, animal crossing, and being near the water.
